Trump, Harris, or Neither: Who Should Christians Vote For?
4 Perspectives on Voting for American Christians
We’re officially less than a month out from Election Day 2024. In the last several weeks, we’ve had a number of Christians reach out asking a variety of questions: “Can I really support Donald Trump?” “Should I vote for Kamala Harris?” “Should I just vote for a third party, or is that throwing away my vote altogether?” We’ve been asking ourselves these same questions. So today, we’re enlisting some help. We reached out to a few friends, all of whom are Christians and none of whom are voting for...

We reached out to a few friends, all of whom are Christians and none of whom are voting for the same Presidential candidate next month. First, we’ll hear from Brett Lloyd, a longtime polling expert with Independent Center, on why he’s chosen the independent path. Then, David French, an author and former constitutional litigator, joins us to explain why he’s supporting Kamala Harris. Erik Reed, a pastor and podcast host, shares his reasons for supporting Donald Trump. And finally, Lauren Onak, the VP candidate for the American Solidarity Party, explains why she believes a third-party vote is the answer. Our hope for this episode is that if you’re an undecided voter, you’ll walk away feeling more confident about how to steward your vote next month. And if you’re already decided, we hope hearing these varying perspectives helps soften your heart to fellow believers who are voting differently than you. Listen now!

Is the Gospel really worth living for? Is it worth dying for? Depending on when you were born, you may approach these questions differently. Today’s guest, Brad East, author of “Letters to a Future Saint” and an associate professor of theology at Abilene Christian University, spends the bulk of his time with Gen Z. Listen as he shares his observations with Patrick and explains why he believes Gen Z is more conscious than older generations of the cost of following Jesus. He discusses where he thinks the church has overcorrected in Reformed circles, shying away from taboo topics like sex. The Reason for the Church with Brad Edwards
The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. Jesus and John Wayne. Church of Cowards. Losing our Religion. Shepherds for Sale. In the last several years, there has been no shortage of negative commentaries on the Church. Why so much anti-vision? Are any Christians attempting to pave a positive path forward? Today, we’re talking with Brad Edwards, whose forthcoming book, “The Reason for the Church,” provides the positive vision that the Church needs. He and Patrick discuss why Christian culture has been stuck in an anti-vision mindset and why a negative perception around institutions as a whole is partly to blame. Brad details why the Church is so necessary and explains how many Christians have forgotten the Church’s role as a source of healing and community. But what about people who have experienced spiritual abuse at the hands of the Church? We hope this episode offers an honest-yet-hopeful vision for church as a necessary institution. Who Killed American Christianity? with John Mark Comer
We've recently talked about the seismic shifts happening in today's culture. That's why this week, we decided to dig up an older episode on this very topic. A few years back, Patrick sat down with John Mark Comer to discuss the state of Christianity in the culture. John Mark, author and pastor, shares his story of how he started following Jesus. Then you'll hear John Mark and Patrick dive right into topics such as the meaning of evangelicalism, especially in current times, and the problem with celebrity culture and Christianity. They also give insights into the cultural shifts challenging faithfulness to Jesus and how we can move forward.
